Pale Yellow VVS Eye Clean 1.18 Carat Cushion Cut DIAMOND Ring w/ CERT. French Vintage Solitaire 18k Gold Tension Bezel Engagement

If you follow along with me at MHA, you know I typically concentrate on carrying antique pieces with old cut stones. But this month I am bringing out a few pre-owned to vintage pieces that I felt were still unique and exceptional. Each of them offering certain elements that really spoke to me, which I thought would be fun to bring to the shop. : )
In the case of this ring, it's the interesting setting that is so perfectly suited to the east west oriented cushion cut brilliant diamond. The bezel holds the diamond, precisely nested and propped in the V shape bezel, which allows light to pass through from the sides. So fun to view from the side! I also love the delicious color - it is one I seek out in my old cut stones, the loveliest pale yellow, facing up whiter in ambient light and lighting up with a gorgeous light yellow color in the sunshine.
This one comes with a certificate from HRD Antwerp (the diamond capital of the world), stating the diamond to be K-L in color, VVS in clarity, VG in symmetry / cut and 1.18 carat in weight.
Found in France, this preowned piece is crafted in 18k yellow gold, with the V shaped bezel in white gold to reflect the light and contrast with the pale yellow stone. It has the French hallmark for 18k gold with a goldsmith stamp.
Sturdy setting layers well with other pieces in a unique and timeless setting. It is fun to see the color of the stone and how it varies between lighting conditions.
Please note the measurements as I have small fingers and the pictures can make it difficult to see scale. Antique box is not included.
SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:
Size 6 1/4.
Diamond is 1.18 carat.
The piece weighs 6.3 grams.
It stands 5.5mm tall off the finger. It is 6mm north south at the top and tapers very gradually towards the base, the shoulders measuring 3.8mm north
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
Not even a nibble to the diamond. It is completely eye clean with no detectible inclusions even under strong magnification (VVS). Sturdily set and ready to wear, some faint surface wear to the gold if anything but nicely polished.
What a wonderful color to the pale yellow stone! A very unique solitaire.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
